Regent Street a Mayfair Shopping Heaven
Hugging the east edge of Mayfair and popular with tourists and locals, Regent Street is the Grand Dame of London shopping.
With some of the most famous Christmas illuminations in the World it is especially wonderful to be here in November and December when the nights draw in and that Pre-Christmas atmosphere really gets going.
Regent Street is named after the Prince Regent – who later became George IV. Originally designed by the architect John Nash, whose street layout still survives with it’s famous curved grand terrace. At the north is Oxford Circus, at the south Piccadilly Circus.
